Why Us
We prioritise the areas below to make athletics fun and to develop the fundamentals for explosive speed and power.
01
Fun
Sophie and Lily believe it is very important that ahtletes enjoy training, improving and competing. They believe in positive reinforcement and encouragement.
02
Mobility & Warm up
Mobility and warm-up builds consistency, discipline and reduces injury. Drills include: jogging, leg swings, walking lunges, build-up runs
03
Plyometrics
Jumpers especially benefit from plyometrics, but sprinters do too. The coaches focus on skipping, bounding and other fun plyo drills.
04
Sprint Technique
Sprint technique training improves posture, rhythm, foot placement, and force application. Drills include A-Skips, B-Skips, ankling and straight-leg bounds.
05
Acceleration
Acceleration is the foundation for sprinting and jumps. Drills focus on: Powerful first steps, low body angle, pushing rather than reaching, relaxed upper body
06
Coordination
Great junior athletes excel in general movement skills. Activities include: agility ladders, cone reaction drills, mini hurdles, ball games, balance exercises and single-leg stability work.
